Photo Editing Software
When it comes to editing your digital pictures there is, surprisingly, a lot of software
available. Some comes supplied with your camera. With my first digital SLR camera I
received a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements. This is a reduced function version of Adobe Photoshop.
I have not tried many of the editors on the market but I have two that between them do
all that I need. I have Adobe Photoshop CS2, which is expensive, but I do use it for most of my editing. I also have the much
less expensive Paint Shop Pro 7.0, which I use for some functions such as compressing my
pictures to optimise them for the web.
The following are some of the functions of these products that I have found useful for improving my photographs.
Correcting under exposure
Cropping and resizing the image
Removing small blemishes or unwanted objects
Optimising pictures for the web
Sharpening images
Reducing noise
Colour balance adjustment
