Photographers Field Guide to the Birds of North West England and North Wales.

In this section I aim to give some information about the birds in the North West. Places where you stand a good chance to see a particular species of bird and, if you're a photographer, where you stand the best chance of getting a good picture of a specific species. The section will largely be based on my own experience but feel free to send me any info that you would like to share with others using the 'Contact Me' tab above.

Since habitat changes, the types of birds it contains may also change. As I don't visit every site that I mention on these pages frequently, it is difficult to keep this section as up to date as I would like to. So if you find anything that is no longer true then please let me know so that I can change it.

I'll be adding to the list of species covered fairly regularly and those that are highlighted in red have either been added new or updated since the newsletter dated 01 July 2008.
